ODE TO ASYA

We're so good friends!

Asya joined our family in April this year. First of all this 2 months old puppy frightened my ridgeback  -  a young girl fearlessly came directly to the adult dog's muzzle and looked at her eyes.

In childhood Asya was ideal: never did her things at home, didn't eat slippers, didn't ran away and was look like a curly lamb. By the age of 6 months the transition period started with  peculiar  teenagers behavior.  Asya stopped bothering herself with waiting for a walk, became more active, playful,  insistent. Her sharp teeth needed work every minute and like a child she tries to taste everything with them,  She liked to play very much with my other dogs or with me. We even called her "Clothes-peg". But she understood very well that there is a border when  the play become dangerous or too bored. She looked like a typical teenager - long-legged, with narrow head and  with out of proportion body. Her movements were full of  grace.

Asya entered the family without any problem. My other two dogs made friends with her very quickly.  She liked to tease and play tricks with my  beauty aristocrat Rhodesian ridgeback dog named Shorsi. Asya pulled Shorsi by her ears, jumped over her, fight started which was beyond her strength . But after the defeat she fearlessly started everything again.

All owners believe that their dogs are clever. I have 3 dogs now and due to my profession I contacted a lot of other dogs every day. I have the basis for comparison. So, Asya is much more well-trained, even in comparison with Shorsi, which  I simply adore. Curly coated retrievers grasp information very quickly. I even think about training Asya as a rescuer dog and include her in Ministry of Emergency situation's database. I believe her working abilities will allow her to become a good helper.

These dogs like water, swim very well, dive sometime and drink in a very funny way.  When Asya appeared in our house we thought that she often turns over her bowl as there were a lot of water on the floor.  But later we understood that it's the way she drinks - put her muzzle into the water, takes water and turned her head  from side to side, and water  flows down.  It's a very funny show.

Asya can eat everything. I feed my dogs with a specially calculated natural food. But besides meat, liver and porridge,  she's ready to eat a watermelon, cucumber,  hips and cherry. A very special delicacy - seeds.

So, such dog will be very good for a family with children. It's a true friend for your child. This breed can be recommended as a sensitive companion and as a dog for the active rest. And if you're a hunter - curly are bred as a gun dogs.

More important thing - this dog will become a beloved family member and for many years will give you good mood, love you, attract by his tender character and amuse by his funny behavior.

Remember, as a wise man said one day, a happy person can be only the one who has somebody to take care about!
